My transition music video

Things which I have learnt from making this piece:
As i have never used the software before, I feel that despite  the many mistakes, it was not a bad attempt.

·         The importance of making sure that footage is white balanced and double check that it is despite the camera man telling otherwise. The importance of making sure that all equipment is in proper working order is undeniable, it really shows on the screen as the two locations are either too dark or whitewashed.

·         Making more shots from different angles for variety. Otherwise the video becomes uninteresting for the audience to keep track of.

·         More locations if needed, as there was only to main locations used, which would be the stairs and boardroom. That or the use of one location would be an interesting study.

·         Making sure the dancers have performed enough footage that it isn’t the same and looks different. With more diversity between the dancers if there’s more than one. More techniques in the dance and more close ties to the song would be more appropriate.

·         Possibly more moving camera angles for diversity to hold the audiences eye line, with a smoother pan.

·         More consistency with actual direction if there is a storyline. Also providing that there is a storyboard and follow it better, (make a better story board).

·         When editing I have learned to make cleaner cuts and better transitions.

Add more transitions for an extended section otherwise it would bore the intended audience. A prime example of this is 02:13 mark to 02:39. This pacing of the editing was too slow and the shot kept for too long.

To always check spelling and grammar for any text (As shown by the spelling mistake by in the credits).

·         To retake shots for more clarity and if I am not satisfied with the footage. This will improve the film later and allow for options to change and edit better.
hopefully with learning to achieve this, I can improve and make a better video next time.
